ORIGIN: Found in Ecuador and Peru in very wet montane forests at elevations of 1300 to 2350 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Mini-miniature sized, warm to cold growing epiphyte or terrestrial in clay roadside embankments with a short, erect, slender ramicaul enveloped by 2 to 3 tubular sheaths and a single, apical, coriaceous, long petiolate, narrowly obovate, acute to subacute leaf that gradually narrows to the petiole giving rise to a congested, successively few-flowered, racemose, 6 to 10 [15 to 25 cm] long inflorescence with well spaced tubular bracts and tubular, imbricating floral bracts occurring at most any time of the year.
