ORIGIN: Found in Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia and Bolivia in premontane and lower montane cloud forests at elevations of 1000 to 2000 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Mini-miniature sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with erect, cylindric ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 to 3, ribbed, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, subcoriaceous, narrowly elliptical, subacute and apiculate, narrowly cuneate below into the slender petiolate base leaf that blooms in the late summer and early spring on an erect, 1.6 to 4.4 [4 to 11 cm] long, successively and distantly, few [3 to 6], single flowered, racemose, slender inflorescence arising from low on the ramicaul, with 2 to 3 distant bracts and tubular floral bracts.
