ORIGIN: Found in the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, the Leeward Islands, Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru in humid forests at elevations of 600 to 2000 meters.

DESCRIPTION: A small sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with bright green, oval, compressed pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, lanceolate, or oblong-lanceolate to linear-lanceolate, acute or obtuse leaf with an attenuate and conduplicate base that blooms in the late winter and early spring on a fractiflex, 3 angled at base in cross-section, to 8 [20 cm] long, racemose or paniculate inflorescence arising from the leaf sheath of a mature pseudobulb that is compressed apically and carries several, successively opening, long-lasting flowers.
