ORIGIN: Found in France, Italy, and the islands of Corsica, Sardinia and Sicily as a small sized, cold to cool growing terrestrial orchid of wet grasslands, olive groves, scrub and light pine forests at elevations below 600 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Found in France, Italy, and the islands of Corsica, Sardinia and Sicily as a small sized, cold to cool growing terrestrial orchid of wet grasslands, olive groves, scrub and light pine forests at elevations below 600 meters with 2 ovoid tubers giving rise to 4 to 10, ovate to linear-lanceolate leaves that blooms on an erect, terminal, 12 [30 cm] long, laxly few [2 to 8] flowered inflorescence, that has large bracts that almost cover the flower occurring in the spring.
