Rhomboda taiwaniana is an orchid species identified by (S.S.Ying) Ormerod in 1995. Culture information and photos for this orchid are commonly detailed under the currently accepted name of Habenaria longiracema.
ORIGIN: Found in the Chinese Himalayas, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam in deciduous and bamboo forests at elevations around 50 to 1300 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Medium to large sized, hot to cool growing terrestrial with an erect stem carrying a whorl of 2 to 6, cauline, elliptic, acute, green above, lighter green spattered with purple below leaves grading above into 5 to 10, erect to suberect, lanceolate, acuminate, margins minutely denticulate to shortly hairy sterile bracts that blooms in the later summer and early fall on an erect, terminal, 6 to 9.2 [28 to 75 cm] long, several to many flowered inflorescence with a 4.4 to 14.8 [11 to 37 cm] long rachis carrying lanceolate to ovate-lanceolate, shorter than the ovary, acuminate floral bracts.
