ORIGIN: Found in Bahia Brazil in Atlantic forests at elevations of 800 to 900 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Medium sized, warm growing epiphyte with elongate, narrowly fusiform, laterally compressed pseudobulbs enveloped in youth by deciduous, imbricating sheaths and carrying 1 to 2, apical, erect, subcoriaceous, oblong-lanceolate, acute, basally clasping leaves that blooms in the early spring on a termianal, erect, 4 to 6 [10 to 15 cm] long, few flowered inflorescence arising through a spathe and carrying non-resupinate flowers.
