ORIGIN: Found in Turkey and Syria at elevations of 500 to 2400 meters in meadows, open marshy woodlands and stream banks in full sun.

DESCRIPTION: Small to just large sized, cold growing terrestrial with a thick, hollow stem carrying 4 to 10 cauline, unspotted, broadly to rather narrowly lanceolate, keeled often hooded at apex, spreading to near erect leaves that blooms in the later spring and early summer on an erect, to 8 [ to 20 cm] long, densely numerous flowered inflorescence with the upper leaves being bract-like and has green floral bracts that are longer than the flowers.
