Oncidium santiagorum is an orchid species identified by Königer in 1999. Culture information and photos for this orchid are commonly detailed under the currently accepted name of Cyrtochilum macasense.
ORIGIN: Found in Napo and Morona-Santiago Ecuador to northern Peru at elevations around 1000 to 1200 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Large sized, cool growing epiphyte with elongate-ovoid, distant on the creeping rhizome pseudobulbs enveloped completely by to 15, distichous, uppermost leaf bearing sheaths and carrying 2, apical, erect, obovate, acute, conduplicate below into the petiolate base leaves that blooms in the spring on an axillary, erect to arching, to almost straight, 24 to 28 [60 to 70 cm] long overall, peduncle terete, to 12 [30 cm] long, paniculate, with upto 10, spreading to somewhat ascending, weakly flexuous, 2 to 5 flowered braches, many flowered inflorescence with adpressed, scale-like bracts and carrying fragrant flowers.
