ORIGIN: Found in Peru and Brazil at elevations around 1500 to 2950 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Small sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with close set, ovoid-cylindric pseudobulb enveloped basally by 1 or more pairs of sometimes leaf-bearing sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, oblong, acute, gradually narrowing below into the cuneate, stout, laterally compressed, petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring and summer on a 3.4 [8.5 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence enveloped almost completely by several [5] loose, tubular sheaths and carrying fragrant, long-lasting flowers.
