Orchid Species: Lepanthes disticha

Lepanthes disticha is an orchid species identified by (A.Rich. & Galeotti) Garay & R.E.Schult. in 1959.
ORIGIN: Found from Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, Costa Rica and Panama in wet montane forests as a miniature sized, hot to cold growing epiphyte occurring at 130 to 2915 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Found from Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, Costa Rica and Panama in wet montane forests as a miniature sized, hot to cold growing epiphyte occurring at 130 to 2915 meters with black ramicauls enveloped completely by lepanthiform sheaths and carrying a single, apical, narrowly elliptic, attenuate both apically and basally, tridentate apically, leaf that can bloom at any time of the year on 1 or 2, short inflorescence that hold the laxly, distichous flowers at mid leaf.
