ORIGIN: Found in the the Chinese Himalayas, the eastern Himalayas and Myanmar in open forests in wet moss on rocks by streams at elevations 3050 to 3660 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Miniature sized, cold growing terrestrial with an elongate, globose tuber giving rise to a slender stem with 1 to 2, tubular basal sheaths and many linear, minutely glandular-pubescent stem bracts and carrying 2, on the lower third, subopposite to distant, oblanceolat to elliptic-oblong, subacute, shortly petiolate to sessile base leaves that blooms in the summer through early fall on a terminal, erect, secund, glabrous, [1.5 to 4 cm] long, densely many flowered inflorescence with oblong-lanceolate, obtuse, minutely glandular-pubescent margined floral bracts.
