ORIGIN: Found in China, Taiwan, Western Himalayas, Eastern Himalayas, Nepal, Bhutan and Myanmar in open hillside in damp hollows around rocks among scrub at elevations of 2500 to 2900 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Miniature to small sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with a cylindrical to ovoid tuber giving rise to an erect, stem with lanceolate, acuminate sheaths and carrying broadly ovate-cordate, acute, narrowing below into the clasping base leaves that blooms in the summer on a secund, glabrous, laxly to subdensely, 2 to 5 [5 to 12.5 cm] long, 8 to many flowered inflorescence with ovate to ovate-lanceolate, acute floral bracts.
