ORIGIN: Found in the Solomon Islands, Santa Cruz Islands, Fiji, Samoa, Tonga, Vanuatu and Tahiti in lowland and montane forests at elevations of sea level to 950 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Medium to large sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with slender, reed-like, close set, hard, smooth, shiny, many internoded stems carrying many, toward the apex, distichous, linear-lanceolate, obliquely acute leaves that are articulate to the tubular sheaths below and blooms in the winter on a lateral, 1.2 to 2.8 [3 to 7 cm] long, 2 flowered inflorescence arising from the nodes opposite the leaves and has narrowly triangular bracts and carries ephemeral flowers.
