ORIGIN: Found from Oaxaca and Chiapas states of Mexico and Guatemala in very wet, cool to cold pine oak forests, montane rainforest, elfin forests and evergreen cloud forests at elevations around 1400 to 2300 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Rare, medium sized, cool to cold growing epiphytic orchid with clustered, conic-ovoid to pyriform subglobose, longitudinally wrinkled pseudobulbs enveloped partially basally by several scarious sheaths that disappear with age and carrying 2 to 3, apical, long linear-ligulate, subacute to obtuse, green suffused with purple, conduplicate below into the base leaves that blooms on an erect, terminal, simple to few branched, few to several flowered inflorescence carrying resupinate, fleshy, very fragrant [tangerines] flowers occurring in the spring through fall.
