ORIGIN: Found in Napo and Pichincha Ecuador at elevations around 250 to 1200 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Medium to large sized, hot to cool growing terrestrial on steep embankments or epiphyte with cane-like, terete, rigid stems enveloped by striate, distichous leaf sheaths carrying narrowly ovate, strongly veined on both sides, elliptic-lanceolate, acuminate leaves taht blooms in the winter on a terminal, elongate, spicate, many flowered inflorescence with green floral bracts carrying brick red flowers.
