ORIGIN: Found in western New Guinea.

DESCRIPTION: Large sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte in very tall trees or a lithophyte on rocks beneath them in shady rainforests with moderate rainfall year-round that occurs at elevations near sea-level and has very tall canes to 79 [200 cm] which taper apically and carry many elliptic to lanceolate, leathery, persistent leaves that are recurved along the margins and are grooved on the upper surface. This species blooms in the late fall to early winter on an erect to horizontal 12 to 24 [30 to 60 cm] long, laxly several to amny [10 to 20 ] flowered inflorescence that emerge from the nodes near the apex of the leafy stem and have heavy, waxy, long-lived, fragrant flowers.
