ORIGIN: Found in southern Spain, Portugal, the Balaeric Islands, Sardinia, Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco, Madiera and the Canary Islands in moderate shade on acidic to slightly alkaline soils in rock fissures, laurel forests and pinewoods at elevations up to 1000 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Miniature to small sized, cool to warm growing terrestrial orchid with oblong tubers giving rise to a stem with 2 apical, narrowly ovate, acute leaves that blooms in the late winter and early spring on a terminal, 4 [109 cm] long, many flowered inflorescence carrying fragrant flowers.
