ORIGIN: Found from Costa Rica to Colombia.

DESCRIPTION: Small sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with oblong-elliptic, strongly compressed, sharply two angled pseudobulbs enveloped basally by foliaceous bracts and carrying a single, apical, linear, conduplicate, acuminate leaf that blooms in the summer, fall and winter on axillary, racemose, 2 3/4" [7 cm] long inflorescence with inconspicuous floral bracts and carrying one to 4, fragrant flowers. Often confused with C dasyandra, but it has a round ruffled white lip with 5 brown or lilac rays and this species has 8 brown to orange rays as well as 2 faint, shorter central ones and the callus is a single, very low and wide keel that is clearly dilated in the middle.
