ORIGIN: Found in the western Himalayas, Assam India, eastern Himalayas, Bhutan, Sikkim, Nepal and Thailand as a small sized, warm to cold growing epiphyte at the base of trees or in deforested areas as a lithophyte at elevations of 800 to 2200 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Found in the western Himalayas, Assam India, eastern Himalayas, Bhutan, Sikkim, Nepal and Thailand as a small sized, warm to cold growing epiphyte at the base of trees or in deforested areas as a lithophyte at elevations of 800 to 2200 meters with cylindrical, yellow stems covered by loose, funnel-shaped sheaths carrying thin-textured, lanceolate or oblong leaves that blooms in the late summer through fall on a pendant, 4 to 6 [10 to 15 cm] long, 10 to 15 flowered inflorescence arising from the nodes near the apex of the cane carrying spidery flowers.
