ORIGIN: Found in the central portion of the USA and Canada.

DESCRIPTION: Cold to cool growing, terrestrial orchid found in damp meadows, lake margins and sphagnum bogs with 2 to 5 leaves and blooms on an erect, terminal, 1 to 3' [30 to 90 cm] long, several flowered, racemose inflorescence with fragrant flowers occurring in succession and having lanceolate floral bracts all expected in the spring and summer.
