ORIGIN: Found in Parana, Sao Paulo, Minas Gerais, Espirito Santo and Rio de Janeiro states of Brazil in coastal rainforests at elevations around 50 to 200 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Medium sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with subfusiform, slightly compressed pseudobulbs carrying 2 rarely 3 apical, suberect or spreading, oblong, acute leaves that blooms in the spring with a 3 to 6' [90 to 180 cm] long, slender, arcuate, branched, dull purple spotted with green panicle with 6 to 8, strongly ascending branches with each branch carrying 3 to 8, long lasting, glossy flowers and has narrowly triangular, acute bracts.
