ORIGIN: Found in Thailand, Borneo, Java, Malaysia, the Philippines, Sulawesi, Sumatra, New Guinea, the Solomon Islands and Fiji in lowland, hill, alluvial and lower montane forests on trees close to the ground or on mossy banks and rocks at elevations of 300 to 2000 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Medium to giant sized, hot to cool growing epiphyte, terrestrial or lithophyte with close set, terete to slightly flattened, elongate, non-branched stem carrying many narrowly lanceolate, shortly bilobed and apiculate apically leaves that blooms in the spring on both terminal and lateral, pendulous, gradually extending to 7 [to 17.5 cm] long, 2 to 4 successively many flowered inflorescence enveloped by sheaths and with oblong-lanceolate, acute floral bracts.
