ORIGIN: Found in Ecuador and Colombia at elevations of 500 to 900 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Medium sized, hot to warm growing terrestrial or lithopyhte on large boulders near watercourses with distichous, imbricating, conduplicate leaf-bearing sheaths carrying distichous, coriaceous, linear, conduplicate from the middle to the base leaves held in a loose fan shape that blooms on an erect, terete, 16 [40 cm] long, 5 to 7 flowered inflorescence subtended by three distant appressed sheaths and having successively opening flowers held well above the plant occurring at most any time of the year.
