ORIGIN: Found in Pakistan, western Himalayas, Assam, eastern Himalayas, Nepal and Myanmar at elevations up to 2200 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Medium to large sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with a stem enveloped in the lower part by many funnel-shaped sheaths and carrying ovate-oblong to oblong-lanceolate, acute, glabrous leaves that blooms in the summer through fall on a terminal, erect, 6.4 to 8 [16 to 20 cm] long, 2 to 6 flowered inflorescence with floral bracts that exceed the length of the ovary and carrying fragrant flowers.
