Orchid Species: Oncidium heterodactylum

Oncidium heterodactylum is an orchid species identified by Kraenzl. in H.G.A.Engler (ed.) in 1922.
ORIGIN: Found in Ecuador and Peru at elevations of 1900 to 2100 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Small sized, cool growing epiphyte with elliptical to narrowly ovate, laterally compressed, ancipitous pseudobulb enveloped basally by 2 short, leafless sheaths and carrying 2, apical, erect, lanceolate, obtuse, conduplicate towards the base leaf that blooms on a panicaulate, heteranthous, ascending, straight, 8 to 10 branched, each branch 3 to 7 fertile flowered, 1 to 2 abortive flowered inflorescence.
