Stichorkis distans is an orchid species identified by (C.B.Clarke) Marg., Szlach. & Kulak in 2008. Culture information and photos for this orchid are commonly detailed under the currently accepted name of Liparis distans.
ORIGIN: Found in Assam, the eastern Himalayas, Hainan, southern Yunnan and Sichuan provinces of China, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam and the Philippines in humid, mossy, mixed and coniferous forests at elevations of 500 to 2100 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Shady, warm to cold growing epiphyte on mossy branches or lithophyte on steep rocky river slopes on mossy limestone rocks or terrestrial in shallow soils with an elongate pseudobulb carrying a few leaves that blooms in the summer and fall on a 12 [30 cm] long, few flowered, racemose inflorescence.
