ORIGIN: Found from Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Brazil, Fr. Guiana, Guyana, Surinam, Venezuela, Trinidad and the Windward Islands as a medium sized, hot to warm growing, caespitose epiphyte in hot low rainforests at elevations of 40 to 2000 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Found from Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Brazil, Fr. Guiana, Guyana, Surinam, Venezuela, Trinidad and the Windward Islands as a medium sized, hot to warm growing, caespitose epiphyte in hot low rainforests at elevations of 40 to 2000 meters with segmented, cylindric pseudobulbs with segments that become smaller apically and can sometimes branch to two, subtended by basal sheaths with two apical, subcoriaceous, lanceolate leaves that are conduplicate at the base blooming on a terminal, fasciculate, short, 1 or 2 flowered inflorescence that holds the successive flower against the leaf base and occurs in the fall and early winter.
