Orchid Species: Lycaste consobrina

Lycaste consobrina is an orchid species identified by Rchb.f. in 1852.
ORIGIN: A variable yellow, medium sized, warm growing Lycaste from Mexico, Guatemala and Nicaragua in wet montane forests at elevations of 200 to 1000 meters.
DESCRIPTION: A variable yellow, medium sized, warm growing Lycaste from Mexico, Guatemala and Nicaragua in wet montane forests at elevations of 200 to 1000 meters with ovoid to pyriform, flattened anterior-posteriorly pseudobulbs that are spined after leaf fall and carrying ribbed, plicate, elliptic leaves that blooms in the spring as new growths appear and carries sometimes lemon or peach scented flowers that need light shade and a dry rest in winter.
