ORIGIN: Found in Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia, Vietnam, Borneo, Java, Lesser Sunda Islands, Sumatra, Moluccas, New Guinea, Solomon Islands, northeastern Australia, and Samoa in lowland and montane moss forests at elevations around 200 to 2400 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Large sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte or terrestrial with elongate stems carrying narrowly lanceolate, apically erose, acute leaves that blooms in the spring on 1 to 3 terminal, simple, 7.2 [18 cm] long, 40 to 50 flowered inflorescence. The plant habit appears when not in flower to be Vandanaceous but in reality is sympodial.
