ORIGIN: Found in Tachira state of Venezuela at elevations of 2305 to 2600 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Small sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with close set, ovoid to subglobose, ancipitous pseudobulbs enveloped basally by scarious, leafless sheaths and carrying 2 apical, subcoriaceous, linear-oblong to linear-oblanceolate, obtuse, gradually folds below into conduplicate, petiolate-attenuate base leaves that blooms on a few, basal, erect, 3.6 to 7.2 [9 to 18 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence arising on a mature pseudobulb enveloped completely by imbricate, dilated, longly striated, shortly acuminate bracts.
