To make roots appear half -way up the stem so that dividing and repotting can follow, peel the tight brown outer covering "bark" off the stem; a root tip should appear soon after. AU76-129

VANDAS: Air-layering Cut around the stem into live tissue; dust with Rootone, and place wet sphagnum over it, cover with polyethylene and secure with elastic bands; wait till roots are 1.5 inches, cut off and pot. F70-117 0
