Infrequently found in Florida on Oncid. cavendishianum; shows raised brown pustules with reddish border, first on the underside of leaves; destroy all plants showing infection; protectively spray other plants with ferbam at 1.5 ttpg weekly or Plantvax 75W at 2.5 ttpg.every thirty days. B16, BU17

RUSTS: Controls Captan and Ferbam are not used with official approval in combatting them, and to those can be added Fore/ Dithane for use on dendrobiums; some of the better ones, not yet legal are Bayleton, Triforine/Funginex and they might be worth looking for. AH86-70 0

RUSTS: Uredo Oncidii Many plants are attacked; it produces powdery masses of yellow to yellow-orange spores; spreads easily; weakens plants; treat with a copper-containing fungicide, or Tersan; N319 (as Hemeleia americana); destroy the plant; spray all others with ferbam. BU61 0
