They feed on decaying organic matter, sometimes they feed on roots, especially of seedlings; their presence causes the media to break down early; use a pot drench of Diazinon; it has no phototoxicity in California. AH10

They live mainly on dead plant materials but on occasion have damaged seedling roots; they need moisture to survive and thrive; northern greenhouses are good for them; if necessary, spray with diazinon or give the pots a drench with it. AH86-61; A83-614
