Hozon or Syphonex are the least expensive, and operate on the Venturi tube principle and are designed to proportion one fertilizer to 16 water; they are variable in production; other types mentioned and rated; Merit Proportioner with a fixed ratio of 1:128 is an accurate type, however orchid plants tolerate inaccuracies. PROPORTIONERS, FERTILIZER: Hose Attachment Types To get reliable service from them the hose should be relatively short, the nozzle opening should be large, the water-pressure above the device should be four times that of the muzzle or nozzle; either use no nozzle or use the open water-breaker type.
