Widely used in Holland as a potting medium; water-absorbent it does not decay and can be re-used after sterilization; it should be leached before use and it requires lime to counteract its natural aciditysource given, OIE86Sept-10;cubes of it can be used for equitant oncidiums; source given. OA86-203; A86-172; when fed the nutrient urea it hardly remains long enough before it is washed out. OA87-201
