BROWN SPOTS: Bacterial Disease Pseudomonas cattleyae; affects many genera; starts as soft water-soaked lesion becomes brown or black; advances rapidly; kills seedlings; occurs on leaves of older plants; spreads to growing point; exudates; highly infectious; on cattleyas it is limited to older leaves and is generally not fatal; spray with Physan at 1.25 tpg. monthly; use Natriphene three-quarters tpg.
