APHIDS: Characteristics and Controls They feed on buds and flowers, are common on cymbidiums; winged forms can reinfest continually so systemic insecticides which last a month are preferred; use dimethoate (Cygon), Meta-systox and Temik. AH4; use Malathion, N329; in Florida, two kinds named, seven controls listed, DK10+, S190; use Meta-Systox-R, or Zectran, C73-22; OR74-227; OR74-230 0

A87-732; spraying on is easier than rinsing. RMHThe ingress of ants into the greenhouse can best be detected by means of sticky cards made of cardboard, etc., a foot square and painted yellow with the surface covered with Stickem, or simi lar adhesive, place them at strategic points and inspect them daily for signs of crawling or flying pests; can be cleaned with turpentine about monthly and used again. APHIDS: Small Soft-bodied Sucking Insects Yellowish, green or black; winged and wingless forms; multiply rapidly and spread thickly; cause puncture wounds on blossoms and distortion of growth; suspected of spreading virus; sometimes tended by ants; spray with malathion or Sevin or pyrethrum. A73-714 0
