ORIGIN: Found in north central Ecuador in wet tropical and montane forests at elevations around 300 to 1500 [2000] meters.

DESCRIPTION: Small sized, hot to cool growing epiphyte with slender, suberect to horizontal ramicauls enveloped basally by 1 to 2 close, tubular sheaths and another below the middle and carrying a single, apical, suberect to horizontal, coriaceous, ovate, acute, slightly acuminate, deeply cordate with the lobes overlapping into the sessile base leaf that blooms at most any time of the year on a fascile of successive single, few flowered, short inflorescence concealed by an erect spathe and has thin tubular floral bracts.
