- Derivation: 'fimbriata' for the fringed margins
- Plant: terrestrial, upto 70cm, light-yellowed green leaves in a basal rosette
- Flowers: many flowered raceme to 20cm., non-resupinate pale yellowish-green fading to white at the edges, margins of flower parts are ciliate, two pair of elongated pollinia
- Bloomtimes:
- Habitat: grasslands or shrubs of the paramo
- Comments: can be cultivated in apline conditions
