- Derivation:
- Plant: epiphytic, clustered subssphaerical pseudobulbs (2cm.) spotted with dark green/purple, single fleshy obong leaf ((10-30cm)
- Flowers: erect inflorescence from base (to 75cm.), large showy butterfly like flowers (to 10cm), brick-red/purple dorsal sepal and petals with yellow margins, yellow lateral sepals with spots, yellow lib with a brick-red margin
- Bloomtimes:
- Habitat: 200-1000m
- Comments: closely related to Psychopsis papilio. Albino forms exsist.
Distribution Range: Costa Rica, Panama, Columbia, Ecuador, Peru?
