- Common name: Day's Pescatorea
- Derivation: for the grower John Day of England
- Plant: epiphytic, pseudobulb-less, short stem with about 7 oblong-lanceolate leaves (2-5 x 20-60cm) in a fan-shape
- Flowers: basal inflorescence with a single showy white flower (to 8cm) with rose-purple on the tips, rose purple with a several ridged callus, otherwise smooth (not hairy)
- Bloomtimes: winter
- Habitat: from 300 to 1500m.
