Forma:
- .. flavida Wherry - yellow-stemmed form
Synonyms:
- Common name: Autumn Coralroot
- Derivation: odontorhiza (toothed root) reffering to the swelling of the stem
- Plant: terrestrial, saprophytic, leafless yellowish stem 10-20cm
- Flowers: 5-15 purplish/green, white lip spotted with purple
- Bloomtimes: August to October
- Habitat: deciduous and coniferous forests
- Comments:
Distribution Range: South Dakota thru Maine south to Oklahoma thru Georgia, Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras
