Forma:

.. flavida Wherry - yellow-stemmed form

Synonyms:

Common name: Autumn Coralroot

Derivation: odontorhiza (toothed root) reffering to the swelling of the stem

Plant: terrestrial, saprophytic, leafless yellowish stem 10-20cm

Flowers: 5-15 purplish/green, white lip spotted with purple

Bloomtimes: August to October

Habitat: deciduous and coniferous forests

Comments:

Distribution Range: South Dakota thru Maine south to Oklahoma thru Georgia, Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras
